YouthBuild CORE-2 week 1: Mental Toughness

Taking place this week, this experience gave young people the chance to build confidence, make connections, and show their readiness for enrollment.

Participants took part in icebreakers and met staff from the program's partner agencies: Land of Sky Regional Council (grantee), A-BTechWORX Project, and Literacy Together

They toured A-B Tech, visited the WORX Project jobsite, and participated in a workshop with Operation Gateway and changemaker Philip Cooper. Finally, they shared lunch over pizza and received pastries and bagels generously provided by Panera Bread (thank you!).

It was a strong and supportive beginning that helped participants step into new opportunities with clarity, connection, and purpose.

We are recruiting for the fall cohort! You can find more info here, or contact us at connect@hoodhuggersfoundation.org.

This is an equal opportunity employer/program. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities. This project is funded in part (67%) by a $1,500,000 grant awarded to Land of Sky Regional Council (grantee) under the YouthBuild Program from the U.S. Department of Labor-Employment and Training Administration. The total cost of this project is $2,235,000, of which $735,000, or 33%, will be supported by non-federal sources. YouthBuild CORE-2 is implemented through a collaborative partnership between Hood Huggers Foundation, Land of Sky Regional Council (grantee), and Camp Grier’s Worx Project, with educational and vocational support provided by A-BTech and Literacy Together.
