Hood Huggers Foundation is grateful for the generosity of our donors. This Donor document outlines how we receive, manage, and acknowledge contributions, and describes the rights and expectations of those who support our work. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and treating every donor with respect.
1. Tax-Exempt Status

We recommend consulting a tax advisor regarding your specific situation. A written acknowledgment will be provided for all donations of $250 or more as required by the IRS.
2. How to Give
Donations can be made online through our secure donation portal powered by Zeffy. Hood Huggers Foundation does not collect or store credit card or payment information directly — all transactions are handled by Zeffy. 3. Use of Funds
All donations to Hood Huggers Foundation are used to support our programs and mission, including Hood Huggers Academy, YouthBuild, Long-Term Recovery, Referral Services, and the Everybody Huddle Up initiative. We are committed to responsible stewardship of every contribution.
Unrestricted gifts are allocated at the discretion of Hood Huggers Foundation leadership to areas of greatest need. Restricted gifts designated for a specific program or purpose will be honored as directed, provided the designation is consistent with our mission and operationally feasible. If a restricted gift cannot be used as designated, we will contact the donor to discuss an alternative use.
4. Donation Acknowledgment
All donors will receive a written acknowledgment of their gift. Online donors will receive an automatic email confirmation from Zeffy at the time of their transaction. For donations of $250 or more, a formal acknowledgment letter will be provided in accordance with IRS requirements. We aim to send acknowledgments within 10 business days of receiving a gift.
5. Refunds
All donations are considered final and non-refundable. In the event of a processing error or unauthorized transaction, please contact us promptly at connect@hoodhuggersfoundation.org and we will work with you and our payment processor to resolve the issue.
