Carla recently moved to Asheville, and she is thrilled to be the Workforce Development Coordinator for the Hood Huggers Foundation! Her job is to connect youth to opportunities in their communities and beyond. She works with other organizations to provide guidance on career paths and, hopefully, connect their youth to hands-on experience.

She comes from a background in social services and has worked intensively with Latino youth in the past. She is passionate about education and opening up doors in communities that lack opportunities. She is committed to community building and fostering a prosperous world for the youth of the future.

Growing up in a household of immigrant parents and understanding what it means to fight for better opportunities, she is led by passion and hope. She is excited to continue connecting to AVL communities, and she feels it is so special to be here.
