M.Z. Yehudah, Ph.D.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Appointed in March 2025, Dr. Yehudah brings two decades of experience in higher education, community engagement, and social justice to the Hood Huggers Foundation team.

Before stepping into this role, he spent over 20 years at Warren Wilson College, where he served as Dean of Inclusive Excellence, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives, and Director of the WIDE Office — helping to cultivate a campus culture rooted in belonging and empowerment.

A passionate educator and visionary leader, Dr. Yehudah’s work is grounded in the belief that creativity, culture, and justice grow stronger together. His teaching, research, and mentoring in multicultural affairs and Africana Studies now help guide Hood Huggers’ mission of regenerative community building.

He holds a B.A. in Communication and an M.A. in Africana Studies from the State University of New York at Albany, and a Ph.D. in African-American Studies from Temple University.
